A few days ago we posted a review on the Contest Blitz Plugin,we are now giving away a SteelSeries Legendary Edition WOW Gaming Mouse.
Entering the competition is easy, just fill in your name and email address here, then use the share url to share it on social networks and earn yourself more points.
For those that read the last post about the plugin, you will remember that we were having some issues with it. We have now received a refund of the $27 paid for extra contest page backgrounds and reseller rights. In it’s current stage I feel that it is not worth spending the extra money on that when so many issues need to be addressed. A quick chat with Chris Guthrie on Twitter confirmed that they have no immediate updates coming to remedy any of the problems.
So, to get this contest to a workable solution, we have mainly had to modify the CSS to make the layout a little more mobile friendly, and also leave the “Contact Form 7 AutoResponder Addon Plugin” disabled to avoid the conflict with the MailChimp API. The contest page is now single column, and although it is nothing pretty, it doesn’t break on small screens.
We have also gone with the MailChimp list integration, so after signing up to enter you will receive an email from MailChimp to confirm your subscription to our Newsletter. Obviously it makes sense to subscribe, the contest winner will be announce via a mail-out.
So here goes part 2 of our review and test, sign up, share and lets see how it works. After the competition is over we will do another update covering the results.

Update: Jim requested the modified CSS file that I am using, so I have made it public on pastebin – http://pastebin.com/LRsEPk9s
To use, just replace the contents of public_html/wp-content/plugins/contest-blitz/views/frontend/templates/resources/css/style.css
Hi Daryl,
I’m glad to hear you got the plugin working, as I have ran into the same problem with it (the layout breaking on mobile devices)
I wonder if it would be possible to get a copy of you CSS changes as I’m terrible at that kind of thing.
Good luck with your comp, by the way
Jim
Hi Jim,
No problem, I have updated the post with a link to the CSS file contents. If you replace the contents of style.css with that, the layout should look the same as what we are using.
Regards,
Daryl
